[the] unknown

My Lovely One and I went for a walk last night. Down by the river. Just as the light was fading. We walked and talked and listened. Sharing ideas and stories and thoughts and plans.

Do you know, one of my favourite ways of thinking is informed by Complexity Theory. Instead of turning away from uncertainty, trying to control life and its messy, scary, brilliantness, we are encouraged to turn towards that place of Not Knowing. To stay open to possibility rather than remain fearfully closed to it.

And I am a big believer in the idea that turning bravely towards the unknown is easier when there is someone there [a lovely.one, a mum, a cousin, a friend, a somebody.beautiful] who gets it. Who will rug up with you on a drizzly Sunday night, who will walk with you down by the river, who will listen to you spill your fears and who will gently squeeze your hand.
