give [thanks]

One of the things that's great about the city I'm living in, is that people thank the bus driver.

All sorts: older.people, business.types, phone.talkers, school.kids, baby.juggling.parents, music.listeners, muscled.men, gossiping.girls, day.dreamers and even black.cloud.folk.

Quietly, as they pass the driver at the front or hollered, as they leave from the back, folk tend to give thanks.

It's a collective [and, I reckon, contagious] expression of gratitude.
