bandaged

I spent the weekend with a Lovely.New.Friend.

She has had a tough year. Crazily tough. (And it's still going). She is struggling: exhausted, fractured, unsure. And feeling let down by several people she thought she had as folk.to.lean.on.

This stuff is hard. And it's nothing I can Try to Fix (as I tend to love do and often must resist). We just talked. And I came to see the way in which this Beautiful Woman is engaging with all that is happening. Instead of just curling in, switching off her emotions, trudging on in the way she always has, she is asking questions, feeling pain, being brave, living authentically.

It reminds me of a line taken from one of my Most Favourite Writers (itself inspired by Rumi): Don't turn away. Keep looking at the bandaged place. That's where the Light enters you.
