I just discovered Maira Kalman. Do you know her?
[When I say things like that I imagine people hrrrmphing: what do you mean do I know her? Of course I know her. Everyone knows her.]
Well, I didn't but now I do.
Her pictures are incredibly beautiful: fragile and strong and lovely. They capture the world in a way that makes sense to me.
In a single, graceful swoop, they break my heart then put it back together again. [Even better than it was before].
